Abounding Grace Ministries Construction

Generation Xcel and its parent entity Community Solutions, Inc. have grown out of Rev. Richard Del Rio's (a.k.a. "Pastor Rick") holistic vision for community outreach and renewal. Pastor Rick is the founding and senior pastor of Abounding Grace Ministries ("AGM") in the Lower East Side / East Village, a community church since 1992. Thanks to the generosity of First Ukranian Assemblies of God, Abounding Grace occupies and manages an historic, five-story building one block from St. Mark's Place, the neighborhood's central artery. From that location, AGM operates a church, an outreach to homeless people called the Apple's Core Coffee House, the Kidz' Rock children's ministry, the Victorious Overcomers substance abuse support group, a gospel choir, and much, much more. Every summer, AGM hosts teams of national and international students who volunteer all or part of their vacations to serve within the Lower East Side/East Village community. Last spring, AGM offered Generation Xcel the entire top floor of this multi-million dollar facility to be used rent-free as a comprehensive, faith-based teen center. Go here for more details.

AGM is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation project aimed at modernizing the nineteenth century building's electricity and plumbing systems, as well as constructing a safe and sanitary nursery area for the church's infants and toddlers. The systems upgrades will have a direct impact on the effectiveness of Xcel's teen center as a computer learning lab and theater, and its ability to accommodate significant numbers of young people at any one time. Please consider contributing to the construction project. To pledge your support, go here and indicate the "AGM Building Fund" as the purpose of your contribution.
